I can’t help but look at this situation as time. In time with thought and experience we learn. We learn that when we move out legs faster entire body moves faster. If we want to move things faster we try to take them all at once, OR add something on to move them, which is hard. Then comes the wheel. Square moves, but slow go, stop, go. We then get the circle. Wow, fastER.

Now we have cars! We’re taking a hit for that, but getting better. Time and experience are teaching us this. I can’t help, but notice the same with us. We now get there faster, sound smarter and carry more info in our pocket than we could objects in a wagon.

We couldn’t do most of the things we do with out making the mistakes, but we can get there fast and learning more and more to do it with less harm. If we were to walk from Canada without eating we’d die, but we can fly from Canada without eating and we feel tired. Sometimes we have to make a little pollution to get there, but look what we can do by getting here and there in a few hrs than weeks or months. I’m glad you’re better, but you know it wasn’t worth the risk of dying!

@elfe1982 interesting.. i have not heard this before… paralyzation of the body after being on raw foods. thanks for the feedback!
June 2nd, 2010 at 15:41
When i went raw and i was at the point of being about 80% raw, i cleared out so much junk, that after i ate a muffin the top of my tongue paralized :O
Wow what a freaky experience…showing how used the majority of people is to all this junk foods….

no prob… we have since done more research and are finding that it is not always true that once you go raw the body will flip out and not accept cooked food. i think people tend to get a bit extreme in this view and the only thing we do know, first hand, is that when we are mostly raw, or completely raw, the body does not like or accept anything chemical (such as the meds I mention in the vid). but when we eat a little cooked food here and there, our bodies are okay. so no stress. thanks!

When you put it that way, it sounds dangerous to go 100%. I’ve been watching some stuff by therawfoodworld and from Matt’s vids, I’m thinking I would still like to incorporate cooked foods (whole grains, etc). Maybe my body won’t be its “cleanest,” but it sounds like once you go 100% you can’t go back. I am just now making the transition to mostly raw and part of my concern is could eating some cooked food negate eating the raw? However, all or nothing is not mentally healthy for me. Thanks

yes, that can be very common. if you are feeling things that intensely, they probably just need to be released
thanks
June 2nd, 2010 at 18:27
I’m not 100% raw, more like 80% raw, but still I feel very very very sensible, specially in my emotions, when I get sad or mad because of something, sometimes I feel them so intense its somehow scary.
June 2nd, 2010 at 18:53
yes, i did major probiotics after the stingray wound, etc… major! yeah, it is very nice to be energetic and full of life instead of pumped up on toxins. thanks for the comment!
June 2nd, 2010 at 19:07
After meds you should take a probiotic 10 times a day for 10 days to reintroduce the good bacteria killed off…or else you can get some nice Candida overgrowth.
I was raised in a Jehovah’s Witness (religion) household, and am an unbaptized one, so if I ever got into a life/death situation I can’t accept blood transfusions anyways. I feel you can’t have your cake and eat it too, so I’d rather be energetic & healthy than full of toxins. In the long run, it’s more complex but better.

I’ll probably just keep up my fat intake (natural fat) to keep my immune up… Everyone is different… =)

thats great that you can stay raw for yourself because it is what your body tells you is right and healthy. we cook for sarah’s daughter, too, and are often tempted but we pay for it later and tend to do it less and less
it’s all a process…
June 2nd, 2010 at 20:59
Sorry about the repeat, I thought my first comment didnt post. I also have 4 kids which are not raw but my youngest loves my raw shakes, but I still cook for them, and yes it is tempting but its not worth the pain my body would go through.

This is great! I can get rid of some pain with meditation, etc… as well and believe all healing can ultimately happen naturally and through the mind. But it takes great mastery on all levels. So hopefully neither one of us must see a doctor ever again. thanks for sharing, we like to get perspective from some of the 100% raw foodies out there! not many are… talk later, Julie

I understand what you mean about the sensitivity. I am 100% raw and can no longer handle eating cooked foods. I dont take any medication at all, but I do practice meditation on a regular basis. I am very big on Qi Gong or Energy Healing. Once I had some rice and within seconds of eating it my stomach felt sick. Right away I went into meditation and focus healing energy in my stomach and after about 30 minutes of deep meditation the pain went away.

I am 100% raw and I understand about the sensitivity. I cant eat any cooked food without it making me feel sick in some form or another. But I ate some rice once and felt my stomach having a bad reaction to it, so I went into a deep meditation and focused healing energy in that area, after 30 mintues of deep meditation, I was able to heal my stomach and avoid getting sick. I can tell you have some tolerance for pain and as do I. I broke my leg in two places and didnt see a doctor for 1 week.

we love and fully support this mission! its wild…you can virtually stop a heart attack in its tracks by giving someone magnesium, a muscle relaxer. or someone who needs a blood transfusion can do 55% coconut water and 45% green juice and this has the profile of blood pasma, etc… nature provides all we need. it will just take some time before we are all 100% on board and trust it!
June 2nd, 2010 at 23:53
That IS the mission ; )

I wouldn’t give any suggestions because I’m not knowledgeable enough yet, but I have seen some amazing healings with extremely simple thing you could even find in your own cupboard. An example is someone surviving a gunshot wound from taking a tbsp of cayenne bcos cayenne evens blood flow. I guess what I was saying is that I have a deep belief in “real” herbalism, not this allopathic version (extracts etc) that is becoming very common and that I hope to be the innovator of such things!
June 3rd, 2010 at 01:16
awesome…way to stick with things and trust yourself! yeah, we will have a blast when you can make it out here or else we will let you know if we head to arizona for stuff in the future!
thanks, cuz!
June 3rd, 2010 at 01:56
I worked through it, but almost went to the hospital…took a couple of Tums too. I’m still up for camping out, I will let you know when I make it there. Can’t wait to see you! Keep up the good work!!!
June 3rd, 2010 at 02:06
wow…craziness! sounds like there are just certain foods to stay away from, but not necessarily fear raw foods. just the ones that create this flare-up. sorry you were so ill… so did you have to heal with chemical meds or were you able to get through it naturally? perhaps they pumped your stomach? anyway, glad you found us here. we are excited to camp out with you if ya make it this way! love, cuz jules and sarah

Hey Cuz! I liked that video because I feel the same way…natural vs. conventional, total toss up for me. Anyway, I did have a bad raw experience last week. I was doing a week of raw cleansing and I had a severe allergic reaction to avocado. Ends up, I have a type one allergy that is a latex allergy, some of the foods that can have ill affects are avocado, mango and bananas. It causes severe abdominal cramping, and many hours of vomitting. Your cuz, Jamie Hammer
